Home Computers and Basic Security

At the moment, wbITC is creating courses for home computing and IT security principles for our community here in Ehlenz (and neighboring communities). We were hoping to be able to begin offering these courses in March/April 2022.

To make the courses as interesting and informative as possible, I would like to make sure that the course topics are in alignment with the actual needs of the interested participants. Some of the topics I will be including are:

• Windows, Mac, Linux - introduction and comparison.
• Emails, Instant Messages, SMS - How to recognize malicious content, especially links (URLs).
• Using search engines (eg: Google) more efficiently and safely - and how to decrease exposure to advertising.
• Social media dangers and pitfalls.
• There is no such thing as a free lunch - what it actually means to use "free" services online.

If you have other topics that you would be interested in, please contact us with your idea and we will see how we can incorporate that into our courses.

These courses will last about 1.5-2.0 hours each. Participation fee will be about EUR 15.- per person, which will cover associated facility and utility costs. Any difference in costs and fees received will be donated to the community center - helping provide the center with additional means for other community events or needs.

Nice and Clean

This year, in March, we are (once again) looking forward to hanging out with our neighbors, running around and picking up litter left behind around our township. We missed out on this the last couple of years, but are hoping that the ongoing pandemic situation will have eased up enough again.

CRM Info-Evenings

wbITC is hosting free CRM-Info Evenings every two weeks on Thursdays at 6:00pm for members of our business community at our office location here in Ehlenz. Please see our News/Events page for scheduling.

These are strictly introductory sessions, aimed at answering some of the most basic questions regarding CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems and how they can be a valuable asset to your business or organization. There will be no "sales pitch" whatsoever.

Some of the topics we will cover:

• CRM - Introduction and basic components.
• Social CRM.
• Improving Quality Assurance with CRM.
• Use cases and Return On Investment (ROI) strategies.

ERP Info-Evenings

• ERP - Not really dead, just highly specialized.
• ERP and eCommerce.
• You need to stop using Word and Excel for your invoicing!
• ERP Solutions for even the smallest of companies - and why.

Important: The amount of attendees for the Info-Evenings will be limited to 3 (three) for each session, and will require prior reservations (RSVP). If your business or organization would be interested in attending our CRM- or ERP- Info-Evening with more than 3 attendees, we could arrange to re-locate our presentation to your location. Terms and conditions can be negotiated.

Business Networking

This year, around May, 2022, I will be introducing a new Business Networking Group opportunity here in the Eifel region. This will be a great opportunity for everyone to meet some great people, create new business relationships and promote their business.

Although one person can acheive a lot by his or her self, this Business Networking venture is simply something I believe should be done with more than one person. If you are interested in Business Networking Groups and Business Networking in general and would like to get involved in a new group, this might be a great opportunity to get in on the ground floor.
